Assessors
- If you have served 6
years as assessor and your name has been permanently added to the assessor
register you are not required to take the assessor exam.
- If you received an assessor
appointment after previously passing the assessor exam and you do not want
to move jurisdictions you are certified for the jurisdiction you were
appointed to. Once you serve as assessor for 6 years your name will be
placed on the assessor register permanently.
- If you have not served
6 years as assessor and you wish to move jurisdictions your name would
have to be on the assessor register and you would have to meet the
preliminary education requirements to take the exam.
Deputy Assessors
- If you have served 6
years as a deputy assessor and your name has been permanently added to the
deputy assessor register you are not required to take the deputy assessor
exam.
- If you received a
deputy assessor appointment after previously passing the deputy assessor
or assessor exam and you do not want to move jurisdictions you are
certified for the jurisdiction you were appointed to as long as the
assessor who appointed you is assessor. Once you serve as deputy assessor
for 6 years your name will be placed on the deputy assessor register
permanently. If a new assessor is appointed and you have not served 6
years as deputy your name would have to be on the deputy assessor or
assessor register to be appointed deputy under the new assessor. You would
have to meet the preliminary education requirements to take the exam(s).
- If you have not served
6 years as deputy assessor and you wish to move jurisdictions your name
would have to be on the deputy assessor or assessor register and you would
have to meet the preliminary education requirements to take the exam.
4. If
you served as an assessor for 6 years and your name was permanently added to
the assessor register. You would not be required to take the deputy exam

would want to let an assessor know that the deputy assessor and assessor
register should be requested from IDR if the assessor is looking to appoint a
deputy.)
